Comfort in the kitchen starts with proper space planning. A correct layout allows everything to be accessible and practical. An ergonomic approach (the “kitchen triangle” principle – where the sink, refrigerator, and stove are positioned at an optimal distance from each other) has remained the foundation of design for many years. These small details determine how convenient the kitchen will be for everyday use.
Lighting also deserves great attention in kitchen design. Maximizing natural light and choosing the right artificial lighting creates an atmosphere that combines both efficiency and coziness.
An interior designer is your best solution for arranging all these details correctly, and it is better to entrust the work to a professional.
Kitchen Furniture Layout
Modern kitchen design aims for maximum functionality. Special attention is paid to smart storage systems – corner drawers, hidden cabinets, and multifunctional islands. Everything should be arranged so that unnecessary items are not visible, while essential elements are always within reach.
Multifunctional kitchen islands can serve as a work surface, a dining area, or a place for family gatherings.
The Vision of Andesin Studio’s Designer
“When I work on kitchen design, my main goal is to find harmony between form and functionality.
I start by analyzing the space — how the light moves, where the natural light points are, which direction is best for placing the work zone, and where an island or dining table should be located.
As mentioned above, a modern kitchen is no longer just a place for cooking – it becomes a social space. That’s why I try to ensure the kitchen design is always flexible and multifunctional.
For example, if the kitchen is connected to the living room with an open layout, I use a mix of colors and textures to create visual balance between the zones – for instance, warm wood tones combined with black metal details.
I also often add a kitchen island – which can simultaneously be a work surface, a breakfast table, and a place for family communication. This is a practical element that is especially valued in modern kitchen design.
I should also mention that in studio-style spaces, where the kitchen directly connects to the living room, I often use aluminum-framed glass partitions to separate the kitchen from the living area. You can see a project completed in this style.
In 2025, the trend continues to favor the return of natural materials.
I work in this direction as well – I prefer the combination of wood, stone, and marble, which adds warmth and character to the space.
Interior design, for me, is not just a visual effect – it’s an emotion. I want a person to walk into the kitchen and feel that this space is truly theirs.”

Key Tips for Designing a Kitchen Interior
Start with function, end with form.
First, plan where the cooking process will be most comfortable for you, and only then think about the style.
Don’t be afraid of dark colors.
They add strength and elegance – a great example is a black kitchen from one of our completed projects.
Use space wisely.
Drawers, hidden shelves, and integrated appliances greatly increase comfort. Designing a small kitchen has its own charm, and every bit of space must be used efficiently.
